You don’t need to choose between your health and your right to vote this fall. Instead, follow these three quick steps to vote via absentee ballot:
- Print out and complete an absentee ballot request form here from the Iowa Secretary of State’s website. Be sure to fill out every section of the form, including the ID Number section, which asks for your driver’s license or voter ID number. If you don’t have a driver’s license or don’t have your voter ID card with you, call your local county auditor to receive that information here.
- Mail back or hand deliver your completed absentee ballot request form to your local county auditor. You can find those addresses here. Absentee ballot request forms must be received by October 30th.
- Return your completed absentee ballot by November 3rd at 9:00pm CT. Note: An absentee ballot will be mailed to you on October 5th.
You must be registered to vote in order to vote via absentee ballot. Not registered to vote? Click here to register to vote online or download, print, and deliver this completed voter registration form to your local county auditor here. The voter registration deadline for the November 3rd election is October 24.
